Conversion versus screenshots
A screenshot captures the page at the current screen size and may include viewer controls, uneven crops, or reduced detail. Direct conversion creates a consistent image from the complete PDF page and is much faster when several pages are needed.
Choose JPG or PNG
JPG produces compact files and works well for pages dominated by photographs. PNG often keeps small text, diagrams, screenshots, and sharp edges clearer. Consider how the image will be used before choosing a format, especially when it will be enlarged or printed.
How to save PDF pages as images
- Open the PDF to JPG tool or PDF to PNG tool.
- Upload the source PDF.
- Select only the pages you need.
- Convert and download the results.
- Inspect each image at full size.
Protect image quality
Use a higher-quality setting for small text, charts, technical drawings, and printed output. Avoid repeatedly resaving JPG files because each save can soften detail. If the source PDF is already a low-resolution scan, conversion cannot recreate detail that is missing from the original.
Organize the result
- Include the document name and page number in each filename.
- Keep related pages in one clearly named folder.
- Check orientation, cropped edges, and color.
- Confirm that you have permission before republishing protected content.
